"To Fred With Love" now available on iTunes; all proceeds to Scholarship Fund

I'm happy to let you know that "To Fred With Love," a tribute album to the my mentor Fred Mills which includes my composition "Elegy For Fred" written for Fred's memorial concert, is now available for download on iTunes for $19.99, or 99¢ per track. If you'd prefer a hard copy of the album with great liner notes, pick it up here at Amazon.com. The 34-track album features many of the world class musicians Fred worked with over the years, including the German Brass, Canadian Brass, Arturo Sandoval, Allen Vizzutti, Matthias Höfs, Joe Alessi, Ronald Romm, Malcolm McNab, & many others. 100% of proceeds from the album will be donated to the Fred Mills Memorial Scholarship fund at the University of Georgia.

A day or two after Fred passed away in September 2009, I was honored to be asked by the UGA Brass faculty to compose a piece for his memorial. "Elegy For Fred" was originally written for 14 brass players and was performed at his memorial September 20, 2009; in May 2010 I was asked to re-arrange it for this tribute album. It was recorded for the album in May 2010, with myself and Brian Turnmire on trumpet, and prolific Hollywood studio musician Mike Lang on piano (Mike's superb solo rendition of "Georgia On My Mind" is also on the album).

Purchase it now and pass on the word about this great collection of world class musicians that would make Fred proud!

with love,

- Knox
